Welcome back to our reviews, today we bring you the brand brand brand new Acehe Formula Lipo, we had the opportunity to test this batteries before they are available to buy. Acehe developed this packs focused on race drone, where pilots need a really high discharge rate, with the less sag possible to cross the finish line in the best place. Acehe will sell for now just two different versions:
- Formula 4S 1300mAh 95C
- Formula 4S 1500mAh 95C
In near future this brand will launch a different version 5S 1300mAh, the 1800mAh are not planned yet, for now just this two version are available and we will talk about them, so let’s start.
Like most of other brands Acehe send their batteries in a card box, by looking at the box we felt we are opening a box of a regular battery and not a pack capable to delivery so much current, the box only have a sticker where it’s demarcated the discharge rate. Once opened we can see that the battery came very well protected, and also has some accessories. Along with the battery we get a Acehe battery strap, 20cm lenght, one plug protector, user manual with some advices, Acehe sticker and one extension for the balance plug, I’ll explain later why they send this with the battery. This is what we get inside the box.
With so higher discharge rate, Acehe is now, competing with another well known brand also with 95C lipos, this will be our comparison, we already tested the Tattu R-Line before, and now with the Formula battery on the market we had to test it.
The Formula battery is small and light enough to be one of the best batteries on the market, this was the vision of Acehe. With just 2.5cm long the balance plug on this battery is really short, but no worries because the manufacturer added to the pack an extension for this balance plug with 7cm long. The main cables (positive and negative) are also 7cm long, 12AWG, with standard XT60, that means that they are 1cm longer than it’s major competitor the R-Line battery.
As you can see by the photos below, Formula battery isn’t the smallest among the Tattu 4S 1300mAh 75C, Tattu 4S 1300mAh 95C and Turnigy Graphene 4S 1300mAh 65C. Just a little bit bigger and lighter than the R-Line, Formula marked his position on the market, as one of the best FPV racing lipo battery.
After some flights with this batteries, I have to say that I feel pretty confident to push hard from this batteries, they deliver the necessary current and at the end I didn’t feel relevant sag, the internal resistance is very good after some flights I keep having 4ohms per cell. At the end of each flight the temperature isn’t as higher as other regular batteries, like Turnigy or even Tattu 75C. Comparing with other batteries definitely this is one of the best on the market, only R-Line can compete with Formula 95C. Lighter than the principal competitor and a little bit cheaper, make this battery my preference at the moment of this review.
